Welcome to the

2019 Belfast Musical Festival

We are delighted to announce the Festival will again be enjoying the wonderful facilities of The Lyric Theatre, with St. Bride’s Hall, Malone, providing additional facilities for some larger classes.

Our dates are Monday 25th February to Saturday 2nd March 2019.
Ros Taylor and Philip Thrupp are joining us again to provide adjudications. Both are most highly respected and approved by The British and International Federation of Festivals and each will bring their own unique mix of enthusiasm and experience to share with us all.

The Festival continues to provide a wonderful platform for local people to perform, learn and hear the work of others in a most friendly yet professional way. With classes in Poetry, Speech and Drama there is something to both challenge and entertain everyone.

As well as the old favourites, we have our new Creative Writing section, first introduced last year, alongside classes that are aligned to accredited exams in Verse & Prose and Acting and even GCSE English Language; so please have a close look to see what new class might be of interest to give performers that invaluable extra experience in sight-reading, prose or public speaking, that might just make all the difference at exam time!

We warmly welcome entries from those who return each year and also from those who may not yet have enjoyed participating in a local Festival. We have entrants of all ages, from pre-school to those in retirement – from individuals, pupils of private teachers, local theatre groups, public speaking groups and also from schools not just from Belfast but from across Northern Ireland; so please do join us, you will be made most welcome!

All information, including the syllabus and entry form, will soon be available on our website (links on the right) at www.belfastmusicalfestival.com.
Our email address is belfastmusicalfestival.contact@gmail.com.

We look forward to another successful festival and hope you will join us. Please remember the closing date for entries is Friday 21 December 2018 – we are giving you a little longer than usual this year due to the delay in getting the syllabus to you.

If you have any queries, want to find out more or have any special requirements that we can help with, please just give me a call or drop an email and I will be delighted to help.
